7th Grade Ancient Rome: REFERENCE Sources

A 7th grade research project covering many aspects of the world of Ancient Rome.

Reference sources (encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc.) are a good place to begin your research.  These sources offer good overviews on a variety of topics. Today we will explore some of these resources; either online or in print.

How do I cite an article from Printed Reference Sources?

Citing is easy if you have a printed book.  Find the ISBN inside or on the back of the book. 

  • In Noodletools, select Print or In Hand
  • Select Reference Source. 
  • At the top of the template enter the ISBN in the field where it says "Import with an ISBN". 
  • Search, import, continue, and save.

HINT: A GREAT place to start searching for your topic is in World Book Online, ADVANCED.  

  • When inside, put in the search words, "Rome, Ancient"'
  • When results appear, look at the three bars on the top of the page to see the table of contents of the article
  • Click on Research Guide and scroll through the menu to find a brief article on your topic
